When you are standing in your conditioned/ego mind, you have only its conditioned/learned understandings, assumptions and permissions to draw on. Your responses can therefore never be fresh, original or unscripted.
But when you leave the city of your conditioned/ego mind and take even one small step ‘beyond the ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing’ (Rumi) and into that infinite field of love, your responses cannot but be fresh, original and unscripted.
Only then do you have a real chance of breaking old and unhelpful patterns, old and unhelpful ways of relating, old and unhelpful ways of seeing the world and seeing yourself.
Only then will you be free.
Giving your mind a single point of focus, resting its attention on this single object (such as your breath), giving your full and non-judging attention to it for even a small period of time (meditation) is enough to help you slip out of the gates of the city of your conditioned mind into the open and infinite field of your unconditioned, natural mind. The mind of LOVE.
From this mind of LOVE, which is how you naturally are, you see as Love sees, you respond as Love responds.
And how is that?
Freely, peacefully, joyously, powerfully, confidently, fearlessly, effortlessly.
Interested in Mentoring?
EACH MONTH, I work with a small number of people (about 6) in a mentoring capacity. It is highly personalized and uses a body-centred phenomenological (lived experience rather than theoretical) approach and draws on mindfulness and reflective practices. If this sounds interesting to you, you can find out more here.
