There is a false assumption that action that springs from a peaceful, loving, accepting mind is soft, ineffective and weak. That powerful action can only arise from a mind that is fuelled by the energy of anger or injustice.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The mind that is at peace is a free mind and action that such a mind gives rise to is what might, in hind sight, be described as ‘inspired’, ‘wise’ and ‘powerful’.
When my mind is at peace, my vision is clear. It is not obstructed or obscured by competing and conflicting interests. I am not held in the story of retribution, often described as ‘justice’. I am not held in the story of guilt or blame. I am not held in the story of powerlessness or fear or unworthiness.
Neither am I preoccupied with needing to defend myself or protect my interests. If at all I am preoccupied with anything, it is to restore peace, joy and wellbeing within a troubled situation. To this extent, I am most open to the effortless and powerful flow of life in its story-less-ness. To this extent, I am guided by the impulse of intuitive, creative, unencumbered action.
The most powerful action arises from the only real power – Love which is Truth
Interested in Mentoring?
EACH MONTH, I work with a small number of people (about 6) in a mentoring capacity. It is highly personalized and uses a body-centred phenomenological (lived experience rather than theoretical) approach and draws on mindfulness and reflective practices. If this sounds interesting to you, you can find out more here.
