Meditation is the integrating process of allowing the disparate parts of ourselves to spontaneously regroup and become whole again.
Meditation is both a process of healing and the state of being what we truly are
Meditation, therefore, is a healing process, whether that healing is experienced as a physical relaxation or as a transcending experience of Oneness as well as anything in between.
The process of healing is not a straightforward, linear affair and can involve discomfort, uncertainty, existential anonymity, fear and anger. In fact, every emotion and state that is possible within our human experience may be experienced in the process of healing. And almost always, healing happens in the midst of our persistent and obstructive attempts to make sense of things.
Meditation gives us a safe way to navigate the process of healing and the means to encounter all that it brings up with equanimity, an equal and even mind, within which we experience peace, bliss, power and connectedness.
Rather than rely on prior knowledge, Meditation brings us into contact with what is fresh, new, unlearned and unscripted at the same time as it reveals to us our many habits of thinking, feeling and sensing that we consciously and unconsciously engage in.
It is our over-reliance on prior knowledge that is unnaturally compartmentalized and our over-thinking and analysing that prevents us from falling into our natural state of wholeness, which is healing.
Healing is intuitive. It is spontaneous. Meditation is the process that returns us to our intuitive and spontaneous nature. But it is more than that. Meditation is also that state in which we heal.
Meditation is thus a process and a state.
